The View from Lugard Road

If the view from Lugard Road isn’t still the best view in Hong Kong, I’d love to hear suggestions for better. It may have become one of Hong Kong’s most popular photo spots in recent years as more and more people realise that the view is far more impressive than anything you can see from the Peak Tower, but nothing beats that walk round the mountain as the sun goes down and the lights turn on in the city below, no matter how many people are there taking the same picture.

  1. Hi there,

Greetings from the Philippines. I really enjoyed your posts about HK, I must say this is one of my fave cities I’ve visited so far (been here many times but never been to Victoria Peak yet) that has amazing skyline view (along with NYC’s Manhattan). I will be visiting HK with a friend from the US (taking a SouthEast Asia tour: HK, Macau, Vietnam, Thailand & Cambodia) this March 2016 and I will surely take a view of the skyline at Lugurd Road then.

If I may ask, what is the perfect time of the day for you to visit Lugard Road to take a photo of the skyline? I’m torn between mid-day with the blue sky & daylight shows a clear view of the skyline or sunset-evening view where the city lights show the best of HK. 🙂 Sadly we have limited time in HK on our March visit, thus I may have to visit there at a certain time.

    Thanks for this post again.
