Namish Taneja opens up about his departure from Maitree: Lack of creative satisfaction

Namish Taneja, currently seen in the show Maitree, bid adieu to the show. In an upcoming episode, his character will meet a tragic end in an accident, marking his exit from the show. According to the story, Namish’s character Ashish will sacrifice his life to save Nandini (played by Bhaweeka Chaudhary) from a fire. Namish confirms, “Yes, my play is coming to an end and I have already shot my death sequence.”

Asked about the reason behind his exit from the show, Namish explains, “I was not creatively satisfied as an actor. I discussed my concerns with the production house and they made efforts to introduce some changes in the story. However, despite their efforts, I still didn’t feel fully satisfied. So, we mutually decided to part ways. I’m happy with how my route ended. It’s a heroic exit that’s been shot beautifully.”

Expressing his gratitude towards Maitree, Namish admits, “Maitree is a wonderful show and I feel lucky to have been a part of it. My co-stars are incredibly warm and kind, and the production team is understanding. I will miss them all.”

Although Namish wants to portray a romantic hero in his upcoming projects, he doesn’t want to limit himself to a certain type of role. He states, “As an actor, I am ambitious and open to explore all mediums. If I get the chance, I’d love to be part of a romantic comedy or play a full-fledged romantic character.”

Namish has also appeared in various television shows including Ekk Nayi Pehchaan, Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur, Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo, Vidya and Aye Mere Humsafar.
