Actor Ssumier Pasricha shares a terrifying encounter with armed intruders in Delhi

In a recent social media post, actor Ssumier Pasricha narrated a harrowing incident where three armed men barged into his residence in Delhi. Living with his mother in Punjabi Bagh, Ssumier considers himself lucky that no one was injured, although the intruders managed to escape with some silver items they found in the temple in their house. Recalling the incident, Ssumier shared, “It was around 3:30 in the night when I felt someone walking into my room. I partially opened my eyes and saw three armed men with their faces covered. I was paralyzed with fear and started screaming. In response, they tried to harm me twice, but luckily I was unharmed. After hearing my screams, my house help rushed to the spot. Sensing more people in the house, the intruders started breaking the glass windows to discourage us from following them and quickly fled. It all happened in seconds. I called the police around 4am and gave them a description of the culprits.”

Ssumier expresses her gratitude that no one was hurt during the incident, saying, “I’m incredibly thankful to God that they only entered my room and didn’t end up in my mother’s room. They entered the back lane of the house by breaking through iron bars and locks. They even tampered with the CCTV camera positioned outside the house by covering it with a cloth, making it impossible for us to identify them from the footage. It’s really scary. Despite installing cameras and taking all possible safety measures, you can never truly feel safe. As someone who hails from Delhi but lives in Mumbai for work, I often defend the city when people claim it is unsafe. However, after this incident, I couldn’t help but think that it would have been better to have a flat in Mumbai. When you live with elderly parents, incidents like these stir up deep fear. I believe that it was only by God’s blessings that we were spared; whatever might have happened that night. The next day, I visited the temple to express my gratitude for our safety,” reveals Ssumier, who travels frequently for the shoots of his upcoming show. He further adds, “With my frequent travels, the fear only intensifies. I can only pray that such a terrifying experience never happens again.”
