It’s official: Pat Sajak is stepping down from the exciting world of game show television as it’s been announced he’s leaving Wheel of Fortune as host after over 40 years. (He will serve as a consultant after his departure after the upcoming 41st season.) There have already been discussions about who could (and should) take over in his place.
First up, we have the ever-charming and multi-talented Ryan Seacrest, a household name in the entertainment industry. Known for his quick wit, amiable personality and masterful hosting skills, he recently departed Live with Kelly and Ryan (and Kelly Ripa’s husband Mark Consuelos joined him), so his rather busy schedule can be a little more open.
And, of course, there’s talk of longtime co-host Vanna White stepping down as the official frontrunner. Or even to maintain the family legacy and bring in Pat’s daughter Maggie Sajak, as she’s no stranger to appearing on the long-running game series.
