Music duos could be coaches The voice starting in 2024. NBC announced Thursday that starting with season 25, there will be a double seat on the coaching panel. Season 24 begins in fall 2023 on the network. The reality competition series also seems to be gearing up for the announcement of Season 25 coaches.
“Incoming: 2024 Trainers!!! double chair!!! epic band!!! Stay close!!!” the show’s Twitter account teased on June 22. The tweet features a graphic revealing the design of the double chair, which reads “We love you” at the base, as opposed to the single-chair tagline, ” I want you”.

This seat change will not apply to the upcoming Season 24, which marks the first without original coach Blake Shelton, who ended his 23-season tenure on the Emmy-winning competition series when Season 23 ended on May 23. Reba McEntire, who guest starred on season 23, will take her place on the coaching panel this fall alongside returning coaches John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Niall Horan. Kelly Clarkson, Chance the Rapper and Horan were judges on Shelton’s final season.
The double seat could mean there will be five coaches The voice in season 25, or it could mean one of the individual spots will be eliminated to keep the coach count at four. Stay tuned for updates on how the new seat setup will work.
The voice Season 23 winner Gina Miles, a 19-year-old Illinois native, hailed from Horan’s camp. Team Blake’s Grace West finished second, with Team Kelly’s D. Smooth third, Team Chance’s Sorelle fourth, and Team Blake’s NOIVAS fifth. Shelton’s team won The voice nine times since the series began in 2011. Although he did not leave the series with a team finals victory, Shelton was named the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) among The voice.
