This fall, it’s time to return to Virgin River – and there will be holiday episodes!

Netflix announced that Virgin River Season 5 will be released in two parts: the first 10 episodes on September 7 and the last two (holiday episodes) on November 30. The streaming service also released photos, which you can check out above and below.

Season 5 will feature “surprising new relationships, a shocking breakup, a difficult trial, a heartbreaking goodbye, and a fire that threatens the town, bringing some people together in Virgin River while tearing others apart,” according to Netflix.

“Issues related to motherhood push Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge) to make an important decision about her future at the clinic, while her pregnancy unexpectedly sparks an emotional connection to her past,” the synopsis continues. “To further prove Mel, Jack (Martin Henderson) faces some long-awaited confrontations – with his own demons and, of course, Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley). And as the respective failings of Doc (Tim Matheson) and Hope (Annette O’Toole) call their identities into question, the Doctor and the Mayor must find solace in their community, their new young family, and each other.”

Season 4 ended with Mel and Jack engaged, expecting a child, and learning that Charmaine doesn’t actually have his twin. “At that point, she’s in a really good place, other than that kind of pinprick at the end of the season where Charmaine says she’s been lying to him the whole time. He’s just in this happy place,” Breckenridge told StrippedPixel about Mel after the July 2022 finale.

The series was developed by Sue Tenney and based on the books by Robyn Carr. Joining Breckenridge, Henderson, Matheson and O’Toole as series regulars are Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Mark Ghanimé, Kai Bradbury and Kandyse McClure.

The cast also includes Teryl Rothery, Nicola Cavendish, Gwynyth Walsh, Christina Jastrzembska, Stacey Farber, Jenny Cooper, Lucia Walters, Steve Bacic, Libby Osler, Keith MacKechnie, Barbara Pollard, Trevor Lerner, Ellie Harvie, Darcy Laurie, Sandy Robson, Lexa Dowig, Gabriel Jason, Emmanuel, Edward, Miranda and Emma. .
